The Orange Wheelbarrow

Living life as a beautiful artform is my highest aspiration . . . Che'usa

Me Musing . . . September 14, 2010 . . .

What a hoot! A friend loaned me some garden magazines to look at over the weekend and one article had these words . . .

The front yard was the first to go . . .

the lawn is on the verge of complete surrender!

And that is soooooooo true here!

You saw the September 5th post of what the yard looked like after the rototilling adventure. Well, this past week was one of raking, rocking and rolling (rocks into place!). I hired a guy to help me with the big job of raking the dirt/grass globs into mounds and then Eb smoothed the flat spots out. The Orange Wheelbarrow was also called into duty on these jobs!

Pea gravel for walkways and
historic bricks for trim

Next came the black weed cloth,
placing of rocks
and bark

Looks like Eb is doing all the work
and I only take photos!!!!!

The mounds got a layer of manure and next will get a layer of cardboard, a layer of soil/manure mixture and then probably straw for mulch. By Springtime they will be ready to plant the lavender, yucca and ornamental grasses.

One side of the front yard done, now on to the other side . . . but for now, some old-time rocking . . .

Until soon,

Che'usa
