The Orange Wheelbarrow

Creating is how I communicate with the world . . .

    Me Musing . . . June 21, 2011 . . .

First day of Summer! Report was it would be 97; however, I think it might be in low 90's, if that . . . thankfully!

This morning we drove over to see a friend's gardens . . . wowie! I guess when you live at a place for 60 years, you have plenty of time to expand and expand and expand. It made Eb weak just thinking about it as I came away with lots of new ideas!

We stopped at the feed store on the way back and they had a Tri-Colour beech tree like I had just seen, so I bought it!

Here are some photos of how well our Fall plantings did with all the rain and cooler weather we had this Spring . . .

    First butterfly on wallflower plant
(Honestly, I didn't cut and paste that butterfly on!)

the snows, freezes and high winds

Iris are taller than I have ever seen . . .
this one is about 4-1/2 feet !

Vegetable garden is starting to come along
after all the rain and cold weather until early June

Etna beans (YES! there really is something
called Etna beans AKA Cranberry beans)

Last year I wanted to expand the driveway for the back garage into a parking area, but we didn't get to it. We are out in the backyard as much as possible and I figured it would be easier for people to park there and come on in . . . soooooo out came the grass . . .

This is my next project. Since Eb had the big tractor here to do the gravel parking area, I thought I'd make good use of it. I figure one day this will be a 'pedestrian' garden entry into the barnlot.

Other than that . . . not much going on!

    Until soon,

    Che'usa
