The Orange Wheelbarrow

Creating is how I communicate with the world . . .

    Me Musing . . . October 23, 2011 . . .

I wanted to take a few photos of the barnlot as we have been working at 'deer proofing' it the past week so I can plant more interesting trees and some delicacies I don't want nibblers to destroy. The weather has been perfect . . . 'Indian Summer' days and cool nights. Talk about 'Autumn colours', this photo came out blurry as I must have moved the camera while snapping the photo, however, I like the effect!

As you can see it was a dry summer and 'wild flower stubble' needed to be mowed. There are a few things I want to turn into more attractive viewing . . .

After just a few days of rain, the barnlot began greening up. The rain had nothing to do with the colour green of the house . . . that is a given (and part of the 'more attractive viewing plan'). Our friends Kenn and Glenn put up the 2 x 4's on the existing short fence so we can make it taller.

Eb taking a rest after attaching the newly painted boards

    Gate between house and barn
needed to be made higher also

    Gate extensions freshly painted

    Closeup along the back ~
4 ft. tall chicken wire above the old fence
that our new friend Daniel installed for us,
then new boards, not only decorative
    but 'deterrent'!!!!!

I have ordered the same bamboo screening (5 ft. tall) we put along the backyard fence which will serve as screening here also. It should arrive mid week. The plan is to get it all done before Autumn rains begin . . .

Then I can remove the 'cage'
    from around my Ginkgo tree
as it will be safe from nibblers.

The front yard mounds just kept perking along without much water, which was the plan . . . and it worked!

The cactus had new blossoms in early summer,
then all of a sudden last week, twice as many appeared
    and then bloomed!
    Wonderful Autumn surprises . . .

Today as I toured the beds,
I was shocked to find the iris blooming again also!

This mum was a potted one from Walmart
    that was soooooo root bound
it didn't do a thing last fall when I put it in the ground.
Then lo' and behold, it began growing this summer.
It took off blooming a few weeks ago and hasn't stopped.
All this from that one plant!

I can hardly believe that after all these years of hearing about the 'end of time' with the Mayan Calendar, we are almost there. According to Carl Calleman, whose work on the Traditional Mayan Count I studied and felt in tune with, it is not December 12, 2012 but October 28, 2011 that marks the ending of the Mayan Calendar we have been using. (There were many different calendars the Mayans used however, the one most have heard of and many follow is the Tzolkin.) In 2004, I made my own Day Counter from which to 'keep time'. It began with Glyphs, which seemed to want to have me watercolour them, and then on to a Day Counter from which to 'keep time'.

And now, here we are, just 5 days left in the count . . .

It's not going to be 'the end of the world' as some people think . . . just 'time as we have known it' will end. And I'm sure if you have even been only half-awake, you have felt that 'time' has changed . . . the way we relate to time has changed.

For me, it has been a shift from 'linear' to 'Synchronicity' Herself leading the way.

If you are waiting for December 12, 2012 for something to happen, me thinks you will have already missed the boat!

Step lively . . . and waltz to the music of Time-less-ness come Friday, October 28th!

    Until soon,

    Che'usa
