Me Musing .
. . August
22, 2007 . . .
Seems as if
many of my Musings begin with: 'Where did the time go?????' Once
again, I can't believe it has been 'many moons' since the last writing!
The
'theme' the past few months seems to have been:
The Ancestors want our attention!
I
have spent most of my time since April's Musing working on my Genealogy-Family
History notebooks. One for me, one for my brother in Ohio, one for
my brother in Georgia and one for the Historical Society in Hilliard,
Ohio where I grew up.
About
two weeks ago, miraculously finding two people who provided information
and even a few photos of my Great-great grandparents on my father's
side, I decided that I needed to send off the notebooks before they
became so huge that shipping would be impossible!
During
that time I had also been thinking of having a 'memory stone' set
in the 'Family Plot' of a cemetery in Columbus, Ohio which began
and has grown on the land which was originally the Farm-stead of
my maternal 4th Great-grandparents.
When
Daddy passed in 1981 and even at the time of Mother's passing in
1996, it was unknown to us that back in the early 1920's, Grandpa
had purchased a plot for 12 graves in that cemetery . Unfortunately,
Daddy and Mother's gravestones had to be in the 'new section' of
the cemetery and not in the 'old section' which holds Mother's ancestors.
Having
discovered the available plots in the 'Family' site, I decided to
check on the cost of having 'them' moved. The red-tape and money
involved is beyond belief! Then I thought of just having a 'memory
stone' made and placed in the Family site, along with a few momentos
that I wanted to have placed for them. Well . . . the cost was still
beyond my means.
I
hadn't walked around in the woods across from our home here in awhile,
so decided to go out and spend a little time in my Circle of Stones
that a friend and I had placed about 6 years ago. While there, it
occurred to me that I could have my own little 'Ancestral Ceremony'
in my Circle of Stones and place the momentos there. They would
be 'portable' for whenever I might decide to move them . . . either
back to Ohio . . . or somewhere else in the future.
Since
my maiden name was 'Stoner', I decided that the Circle of Stones
was a perfect place!
I
also had lost count on my Mayan Day Counter and happened to look
at it, discovering that a new cycle of 260 days began on July 22,
2007 and August 10th would be 7 Ahau, which was the very same
'energetic' signature of the day I was born, Feb. 6, 1947!
So
. . . on August 10th I returned to the Circle of Stoner (oops! I
have a hard time typing Stone without adding the 'r' on the end!)
. . . Circle of Stones with a special writing and momentos to place
in memory of my parents. It was very sweet. And somehow in doing
that, I have come to feel a lightness about me that I have never
felt before.
A
few days ago, in talking to my friend Carol, she mentioned that
Pam, the woman who had been the Minister at our local Methodist
church from 2000 to 2006 had finished her book and she would loan
me her copy if I wanted to read it.
I
figured it would be a good summer read as Pam and I had spoken a
few times about her 'book in progress'. I settled down to read a
few days ago and couldn't put it down! For me, it was one of those
that I want to just continue reading through the night and into
the next day and forget about eating, cleaning, etc.
The
title is: Greenfire,
the deep sacred mystery . . . an Intuitive History of
the Fifth Century in Celtic Country by Pamela Coy.
The
story is woven around many threads. One being Pam's experience in
1982 of hearing the scream of a woman, who she discovered lived
in the 5th century! For some, this sounds very weird; however,
for those of us who have had, what I call, 'mystical experiences'
(and usually unexplainable by our current reality's limited mind
processes), it is a fascinating adventure.
It
has taken Pam 25 years to complete the story. In the book, she will
share with you the 'why' of that. She has come to know that her
passions for traveling and 'intuiting history' of a place meld well
into the telling of stories of the ancestors.
Another
thread was the story of Anaias, the woman of the 5th century. I
learned much about my own life by reading of her life. Some of my
'mystical experiences' began to make more sense.
May
the Flame of Inspiration
. . . the
'greenfire'. . . that IS
your deepest spirit . . . once again ignite in you this summer!
Until
soon,
