Is this a hoot
or what????????
I was just
in town mailing two envelopes to my friend Sara in Texas. (I had
to mail two as I had already re-sealed the one envelope twice after
adding more stuff to it, then found more I wanted to send, so just
addressed another envelope.)
It was the
first time I had ever
mailed her (or probably anyone else) something that I hadn't made
a decorative envelope for. . . or at least coloured a few brush
strokes on. I always figured if you were going to spend the money
to mail someone something, it ought to at least be interesting
looking!
Today was to
be spent cleaning out the garage, so I just made a quick trip in
and out to the Post Office. And on the way home I thought, 'well,
I should go through my files also and weed out more papers'.
The file came to mind that holds all the samples of envelopes and
Musings that I used to mail out on 11 x 17 hand-painted paper (before
email). As I drove home, I was considering whether I could let go
of them yet, even though I hadn't sent much out like that in the
past 5 years!
I couldn't
have been gone more than 20 minutes and when I got home there was
a message on the recorder from Sara saying: "Che'usa, I was
just going through some things and found some of the wonderful envelopes
and papers that you used to paint and send. Your mail is always
sooooo fun to get!"
I
called her up and said, 'You're not going to believe this . . .
but I just mailed you
two boring looking envelopes
with absolutely NO artwork on them'!
We
decided it was a message 'from the Universe' saying:
Don't
throw them away yet!
OR
Create
BIG Fun !!!
And it wasn't
ten minutes later the phone rang and my friend Winifred in Malibu
was on the phone asking me if I would make her some of those neat
sayings on all kinds of interesting paper like I used to send out
in my mail!
Ooh ooh . .
. I hear the garage calling . . .
