Me Musing . . . December 3, 2007 . . . about life in general . . .

Most of you who read this know that every now and again I find myself 'musing' about life and what is going on in the world around us and then one of these 'novelettes' mysteriously appear in your mailbox (snail or email!)

Seems it is 'Musing time' again!

And I had to laugh as I sat down to write what has been coming to mind these past few days. When I opened my email program
it said I still had 450 emails in folders there (after having cleaned them out this summer, down from 1210!!!!!!!) What on earth do I NEED with that many saved emails ??? Sooooooo . . .
part of my task just now is clearing out more and more from that stash of "I just might need this someday!"

One that I had saved said:

"The key at this moment of potential mastery is to not try or even desire to alter external conditions, manipulate energy or matter, or even attempt to alter the consciousness of others. The key at this moment is to look at what is inside of you that is not peaceful,
not in harmony, not real, not true, not in balance, and no longer
serving your becoming YOU!

Prayer changes things, as long as you have no expectations around the outcomes. Prayer is a Loving act without attachment or control or agenda. Trust and surrender are the antidotes for fear, not rigidity and asserting the will."

I have lately been pondering the 'debate behavior' of candidates on both sides. Most of it seems to be about 'agendas'. And they seem to have forgotten what the greatest Teachers had told us over the eons: 'You cannot affect change from the level which it was created'. (I have always presumed 'level' in that case meant 'level of thinking'.) Of course NOW, the creators of most of our problems seem to be on a 'level' of financial strata that is far beyond most of 'our' thinking . . . thus . . . their ideas for change seem to include THEM
not having to move FROM that strata!

If one would go back to the original quote . . . the 'next level' in most cases would only have to rise to 'common sense' and many problems would solve instantly! As our friend Scotty says:
'many people are over-educated for their intelligence'!!!!!!! And that seems to be the case for many in our political arena of late.

I just finished reading 'Living Wabi Sabi' by Taro Gold and am making my way through 'Archetype Design . . . house as a vehicle for Spirit' by Vishu Magee and began to wonder
(as I am sure many of you do) . . .

'What REALLY is the point of all of this STUFF
going on in the world???
Is it just an Earth experiment gone awry
OR
is there really a good reason for it . . .
of which I have yet to figure out.'

As I am sure happens to you, daily I get emails asking me to vote for something or contact our elected officials to register a complaint . . . on and on.

Yesterday while out raking leaves, I pondered this idea:

What do you suppose would happen if NO ONE sent anymore letters or emails or made calls to our Congresspeople and Senators???

Do you suppose they would EVEN notice
that the phone no longer rang?
That their staff had no mail to open
or emails to which they could rotely respond ?
That perhaps no one was reacting/responding any longer
to ANYTHING they said or did?

And I wondered how long it would take them
AND the media
to pick up on THAT story?
Do they REALLY even know we are here?

And I wondered if by engaging in the duality-battle with them
we have REALLY only been fueling the fire as they seem to LOVE high-drama . . . as evidenced by what the media shares with us
as they maneuver us from one drama to another in the world.

Yes, there are difficult situations happening, but there are also amazing events happening too, of which WE have to find for ourselves.

It appears that most of us have allowed ourselves to have gotten snared in the 'High Drama' ADDICTION right along with them.

We KNOW that to put out a fire, just cut off its source of oxygen or fuel . . .
so what do you suppose would be the effect on them
IF
there was NO reaction/response
coming from millions of us???

Now, in my 'Musing' I heard a voice say, 'yes, but that means
you don't care about people and what is happening to them'.

No, I care deeply. This is not about 'doing nothing'.

This is about not only remembering (as we SAY we do), but
having ALL OUR ACTIONS (how/where/why we spend our money/time/resources/energies) bubble up from our 'Authentic Self' . . . our Self that 'by our actions' show that we really are concerned whether we humans continue to, not just survive, but help This Garden flourish.

So what do you suppose would be the effect
if we spent the SAME AMOUNT OF TIME that we:
watch the news,
send on jokes through email,
post You-Tube videos with closeups of our nostrils
and other inane carryings-on,
read and send emails of 'reaction' about political High Dramas,
(we can insert lots of other ideas here . . .)

SPEND THAT SAME AMOUNT OF TIME
SITTING IN QUIETUDE
WITH OUR 'AUTHENTIC SELF'
(our connection to 'All That Is')
ALLOWING THAT SELF TO GUIDE US . . .
ASKING TO BE SHOWN
ONLY THAT
WHICH WE
ARE MEANT TO AFFECT.

And if that seems just too overwhelming,
what if
we spent just 20 minutes a day
or EVEN JUST 10 minutes a day
in The Quietude
connecting with
The Source,
God,
The Mystery,
Great Spirit,
(whatever we prefer to call IT) . . .

and with the rest of the minutes/hours
we used to spend on those Dramas:

We would, instead:

Walk with Nature . . .
find one of Autumn's last flowers . . .
Sit beside it
and ask it HOW
with all that is going on in the world
(and HAS been going on in our lifetime)
that these same flowers
manage to bloom
year after year . . .

AND never cease to amaze us
at their strength,
vividness of colour,
vitality,
show-stopping beauty . . .

OR . . .
look for Autumn's animals and
watch their antics.

OR . . .
find a rocker and hold a wee-one on our lap
and be amazed at the wonder of their tiny fingers

OR . . .
If we live where there are no 'Autumn Animals'. . .
in our Quiet time, imagine-in swimming with the dolphins,
hear their sounds.

We can be creative.

Be open.

Have no 'agenda'. . .

And watch how having 'no agenda'
begins to translate
into EVERYTHING in our world
when we take the time
to see
and feel
and
'be in'
the Special Beauty of the REAL world.

We ARE
a part of One World
and
We DO
all share
The Same Dream.

If we are finding lately
that we are not comfortable
in OUR part of the Dream . . .

WE can . . . CHANGE IT. . .

simply . . . by

CHANGING . . .OUR tune . . .

finding our 'authentic' station!

Last night I watched the movie, Nell, with Jody Foster.
I wasn't sure at first if it was something I could sit through; however, I became entranced with the story and the character.
She summed it all up rather well at the end:

"You have BIG things . . .
you know BIG things . . .
but you don't look into each others' eyes . . .
and you are hungry for Quietness . . . "
