From over the Hill
. . .

September 29, 2012

Fabulous fun today at Scott Valley Feed & Garden's Harvest Festival! Lots of people, lots of food, lots of hand-crafted gifts and lots of pumpkins!

Remember Gary Pollard from my October 25th story last year??????? Gary displayed work, along with a few wonderful bowls he had turned from my catalpa tree. The tree has never looked so good!

The Isbell's Oak Hill Gardens Pumpkin Patch had a wide display of shapes, sizes and colours, including their latest pink pumpkins! The Pumpkin Patch will be open Saturdays and Sundays in October from 10-4.

And a fascinating lady, who I had never met before . . .
Chef Caroline White Brask, who made the trip 'over the hill' to tempt us with some of her incredible delicacies.

Chef Caroline will be teaching the Class, 'Herbs for Gifts' next Saturday, October 6th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at SV Feed & Garden in Greenview. Call the Feed Store at 468-2434 or stop in to pre-register, as space is limited.

"There's nothing quite like using herbs from your very own garden to enjoy with your family and friends. Enjoy an evening of creating herbal cooking bundles, tea blends, decorative blend boxes and butters. Herbal honey spoons make a great gift.

Each person brings:
an apron,
pair of scissors,
handful of your garden herbs
10 spoons*
to be used for the gifts you make.
*These can be lovely antique ones,
or just the ones you have laying around.

You will come away with lots of gift ideas
and things to take home . . .
so bring a box to carry home your goodies!

Cost of class is $20
Call to save your spot as space is limited.
I'll be there!

In joy!
