Me Musing .
. . January
21, 2007
What a hoot!
My friend,
Jan in Glastonbury, England has been following my sewing re-career!
She does fabulous painting on silk and her talented daughter Rachel
does incredible jewelry by knitting with copper wire! Check out
their website (Facets
of Avalon)
I met Jan,
in person, in 1997 on a trip to Glastonbury. A mutual friend who
knew we were both 'colour-holics' had introduced us by phone and
mail (before email!).
Jan also lives
in and runs a wondrous B&B called 'Berachah Guest House' which
is built into the slopes of Glastonbury Tor and overlooks the healing,
regenerative iron-based waters of the red spring of The Chalice
Well Gardens.
She is the
one who introduced me to the Aura Soma Colour Bottles

which I have
used (since that visit) in my Quartz Crystal Bowl sessions. ('The
Bowl Lady').
Jan had written
a few weeks ago that the exhibit just now in their gallery is based
on the 'Peat Bogs' that are so prevalent in the United Kingdom.
As I was re-looking at my Orange Wheelbarrow pages last night, it
occurred to me that, I too, seem to be working from the 'peat bog
colour scheme' just now!!!!!!
Guess it is
all just part of the winter scheme of things until we find out on
Feb. 2nd if the groundhog sees his shadow or not.
I remember
while growing up in Ohio, THAT was a big thing . . . as was, 'when
the forsythia blooms'. Only now I can't recall what all that means
for the weather situation. Probably nothing anymore as the weather
patterns seem to have a mind of their own!
Bill, our Nature
Photographer just sent photos of Mom and the new 'hatchlings'. He
used a loooooooooooong camera mount and was able to get the camera
right over the nest.

The proud Mom resting and the little hatchlings in their nest .
. . only 2-3 days old and they look almost as big as their mother!
Totally amazes me that they were born this early in the year, especially
as the weather there (which is usually moderate) has reached below
freezing temperatures in the past month.
Well,
guess I'll go check out the fabric closet. There must be something
in there besides 'peat bog colours'!

Until soon,
Che'usa
