Me Musing . . . QUITE an interesting day today . . .

My friend Donna left me a Voice Mail Sunday afternoon that she was driving through our Valley and on one of the Radio Stations there was an interview with a woman about the Mayan Calendar. By the time I got the message, the show was over and I didn't think much about it as the past few years other creative pursuits have occupied my time.

(In 2004, I was deep into the study of the Mayan Calendar through the work of Carl Johan Calleman and developed my own artwork for Glyphs and then my own Mayan Style Day Counter.)

The next day, my friend who teaches Spanish classes at the local high school left a message that she would like me to come to school on Friday and speak to her 3rd level Spanish classes!

I had no idea when I got her message what I could possibly talk to them about!

The next day we finally connected and she said she had heard a woman speaking about the Mayan Calendar on Sunday afternoon and since she and some students from her classes were traveling to Chichen-Itza in a few weeks to visit the Mayan Ruins, she thought it would be great if I would come and speak to them about the Mayan Calendar!

Soooooooooooo I spent the last two days digging out my artwork and re-acquainting myself with all the information that was such a part of my life in 2004 and 2005.

She mentioned to me that a few of the students were freaking out about Dec., 2012 being the 'end of the world' (as many people seem to have gotten that idea!).

Today was the day and I arrived there with artwork, Day Counters and notes in hand; however, really wondering if I could connect on this with young people of that age group! The two classes were back to back and would last about 40 minutes each.

I decided to begin by showing them a page from our Gregorian calendar (which to me has become more of an 'appointment journal', date listings of past happenings in our history and dates of holidays we celebrate). Then I showed them the Tzolkin (the Sacred 260 day Mayan Count) . . . and of course, there is no comparison! I smiled as I could see the looks on their faces when I explained, that for me, this calendar has a life of its own; is one of energetics, evolving time, organic, cycles, flow.

 

I explained the numbering system from one to thirteen and about the 20 Day Keepers, which repeat through the numbers (13 x 20 = 260).

I briefly touched on the Day/Night Pulses . . . periods of action and periods of rest, which to me are like the inbreath and outbreath.

I explained about how my artwork for the Glyphs came about, then about working out the Day Counter system and how Carl had encouraged me to have it printed to share with others as a great tool for using the Calendar. The first Glyph I had painted was Etznab



and I had them look at it and then close their eyes and asked them to imagine themselves running up one side of the steps and then down the other. Then by show of hands, I asked how many ran up the left side and down the right and how many ran up the right side and down the left. The amazing part was, which they had chosen seemed to depend on which side of the room they were sitting ! Then I had them reverse the process and most agreed that it was harder to 'mentally' do it in that direction . . . which was the same response I had had back in 2004!

I then talked about the left and right sides of the brains and how we are moving into 'balanced' or 'one' brain.

An exercise like this, by the way, is a good one for integrating and balancing both sides of the brain, especially if we have been spending too much time in left-brain activities!

I explained about Carl's years of research and study and the 9 Underworlds he speaks of in his book..

In 40 minutes, it is difficult to cover billions of years, however, my main focus was on how these 9 levels of Consciousness correspond to the Pyramid they would be seeing in Chichen-Itza.

I wanted them to begin to correspond the two with the idea that these levels (or resulting states of consciousness as Carl calls them) build on each other. On the dates shown in the chart, the one before doesn't just end . . . it is the foundation for the next level.

I talked about how the 244 years from 1755 to 1999 (the Planetary level of consciousness) which began with Industrialization and closed with Materialism consuming us, extended a lot longer than this new level (beginning in 1999) we are now living in until early 2011 (Galactic consciousness), bringing with it the Internet and Technology Explosion. We talked about the feeling of 'time speeding up', which I was not sure, at their young age, they would have felt. A few have!

I talked about how many people of my age group can relate more easily to their parents and grandparents lives than we oftentimes can to people of their age group . . . as we and our parents and grandparents were born and raised during the same Consciousness level, so much of our 'history', I believe, is imbedded in our cells. I can still see the looks on their faces when I said that I was almost 8 years old when we got our first TV!!!!!!

I explained that they may also have this same experience when in early 2011, another level begins (Cosmic) and children born during that time (and possibly even the ones who have been born since 2000) will most likely be totally different from them. Cell phones and internet may be outdated, as we may be communicating through telepathy!

We talked about the Dec, 2012 date and I explained that Carl's research has revised that date to Oct. 28, 2011 . . . so many will be waiting around for 2012 and will find out they missed the whole event the year before! We talked about the hype of Y2K and how we all thought we would wake up on Jan. 1, 2000 with no electricity, no food, no water, on and on . . .

I wanted to instill in them the idea that it is their choice whether they look at this coming-time fearfully, or if they choose to live it as an Adventure, an opportunity to begin now by putting their awareness on the Universal Flow of Energy, move with it and not fight it in their everyday lives.

Just because others may believe one way doesn't necessarily mean it is the Truth . . . they will only find what is best for them by taking time for themselves in Quietness, perhaps journaling and looking for the 'bigger picture' of what is really going on around them . . . and most importantly . . . take responsibility for their choices.

If they feel they have been 'hurt' by someone's actions or remarks, step back, look inside, see if there might not be something they find there that could have prompted or even aggitated the situation.

And perhaps that is the message of Etznab . . . Mirrored Stepways to the Platform of Oneness . . . one side mirrors/reflects the other . . . the outer reflects the inner and only by climbing up to take a 'higher view' can we see in new ways.

 

One plus one equals two . . .

and when viewed from Above . . .

takes us back to One again!
