Me Musing .
. . August
25, 2009
We sort of
lost our momentum after I was gone the 14th, 15th, 16th for a Surface
Design Class in Klamath Falls. Mornings now start about 10:00,
then break for lunch and back to Cheeseville about 5:00ish so it
seems like not much headway is being made!
Eb picked up
the Ponderosa Pine (from his trees across the road)

which
had been cut about 3 years ago, milled
and just waiting for a purpose!!!

Then
he had to cut them to a more manageable size,

plane and straighten
them before he could start laying the floor.

Floor Before
(linoleum)

The work begins
. . .
(first coat on bottom cabinets also)

Floor with boards
layed-in but not nailed
(we just wanted to see what it would look like!)

Drawer painting
(they look lighter blue,
but are the same as kitchen bottom cabinets)
I walked up to get the mail today and stopped at the 'Etcetera'
(used stuff) store to have a look around. I was thinking it would
be nice to have a little chair for the kitchen to put below the
little telephone nook. Didn't see anything in the front room, but
when I walked into the next room I saw this chair that was 'home'
to a bunch of dolls.

So
I moved them and had a seat and fell in love with the feel of the
chair. $22 and I was carrying it home!
Tonight
we removed the seat as I had just the fabric for recovering it.
After a liberal dose of orange oil on the wood and new colours,
it's a WOW!

I
love the bent wood and style.
Wires underneath hold it together
and the feel of the wood is wondrous!

When
a person rubs a piece of furniture,
she puts a little fragrant wax on it
with a cotton cloth . . .
and as she does
she registers the object
'officially'
as a member of the household.
That's all for
now . . .
Until
soon,
Che'usa
