'Chinra-Minka' ~The Old Red Barn

Me Musing . . . October 25, 2009

Well I have been working away on the painting. I got the second coat on the Alley Workshop wall that faces the house and am really pleased with it.

We brought over my favorite outdoor art, a huge piece of copper that has had years of just hanging outside, gaining great patina and we hung it on the Workshop wall.

I love all the colours and images that spring forth from it . . .
Nature certainly can do wonderful things with materials!

I worked all the way around the house and got the first coat on all but the window trim and overhang by the front door . . . an area that is going to be the most difficult:

Saturday while I was 'studying the situation', I began to laugh, remembering one of Daddy's cartoons he did in the 70's. So I dug it out for inspiration!

I showed it to Eb and he laughed while going for the truck as I grabbed the ladder!

It appears in the photo that it will work; however, we couldn't get the truck close enough since the steps come out beyond the overhang . . . darn! I may just have to resort to my paint brush duct-tapped to a mop handle! To be continued . . .

Am pleased that the 'weather gods' have been good to us. We are still having 'Indian Summer' days so perhaps I might even be able to 2nd coat everything before winter sets in. Then I won't have to face the paint scene again in the Spring!

Until soon,

Che'usa
