'Chinra-Minka' ~The Old Red Barn

Me Musing . . . November 19, 2009

We had a 'rest period' for our backs and then the weather changed, so not a lot of work got done for a few weeks.

The sun did peak out a few days last week and I was able to get the first coat on the porch and window trim in the front, so at least the house looks like what it will when I do the second coat on them next year.

Front before . . .

Front after . . .

I couldn't get the numbers off the post, so painted over them and then decided to 'whimsy them up' a little bit!!!

I also wasn't happy the way the painted and woven paper piece looked in the little breakfast room area, so I put a large piece of copper coloured mat board behind it . . . and it still needed something, so found a frame that was here (maybe for storm windows???) and painted it the same colour as the outside window trim.

NOW . . . I like it!

Out in the Alley Workshop I came to a stopping place of putting up the felt paper before the insulation goes in, so decided to see what the workbench would look like after sanding. It is a rare piece these days, as it was cut in the mid 50's at a local sawmill and is 16 feet long, 24 inches wide and 3 inches thick . . . of Douglas Fir.

Before . . .

Coming along . . .

Looking better . . .

Other than that . . . not much going on!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving Day with friends and family.

Until soon,

Che'usa
