Glorious 'Indian Summer' Days!

Been having fun visiting with friends about the 'Greenfire' book I spoke of a week or so ago. And in the course of those conversations,
I dug out a book I had begun to read about 3 years ago by a Brazilian man named Trigueirinho. The title is 'Beyond Karma' and as I began to re-read it, I realized I had never finished it as it seemed way over my head at the time. Was interesting to see that this time around it made 'perfect' sense!

I was also led to another book by my friend Donna, called 'Buddha in Redface' by Eduardo Duran. She said she was reluctant to loan me her copy as she had used it as a 'journal' while reading. So I ordered a copy off Amazon and could hardly wait for it to arrive. She had only told me that Eduardo was a psychologist in New Mexico whose main work was involved with assisting Native Americans caught in the addiction cycle, but in doing this he began a journey of his own and this book was about those personal and transforming experiences.

When the book arrived I could hardly wait to begin. The introduction piqued my interest when he wrote: "As for the Manhattan project, all I can say is that this part of the story is true in the dream and also the physical realm." He went on to briefly explain that military people had come onto his grandfather's land, killed all the livestock, invaded their house and drove off his grandparents at gunpoint. That same land was where the Atomic Bomb was built. YOWIE!

He realized as he began working with the people, that the processes he had learned in school weren't helping them and began asking about their dreams. In doing so he came to the attention of a Shaman, who became his Teacher about Life and the Dreamtime.

Fascinating life story which amazingly (surprise, surprise!!!!!!) fit more pieces of my own life's puzzle together. As soon as I began reading, I understood what Donna meant about using the book as a journal as I found myself making notes about my own dreams/visions/ideas over the years!

And . . . I was once again reminded of the artwork that flowed out of me in 2005 which I called, 'The Dreamers'. (If you haven't visited that page from my Studio website, you can follow the above link to that page!)

And . . . I understood more clearly my connection with the Southwest and Native American culture and the Japanese culture which I have always been drawn to. Very interesting how these two connect.

Between reading the past few weeks, I managed a little time for sorting and cleaning the garage and found the 'drapey fabric' that I
had used a few years ago when I was big into tea parties.

Sooooooo I decided since two friends were coming Monday for

Tea and Brunch . . . al fresco

I would once again create an outside Tea Room here!

What fun!

The house and 'drapes' add the colour . . .
inviting you into the 'beckoning mystery' !

Teas in tall glass canisters
'sprout' like this
Reishi Fairy Flower that
begins as a hand-wrapped ball of tea leaves,
then opens to a wonderful surprise!

If you are looking for a good 'end of summer, almost Autumn' read . . . I suggest getting a copy of 'Buddha in Redface'. It certainly had a profound effect on how I now look at life and the events of today's world.

Until soon,
